“Executive function” is a term that describes a set of skills we humans can develop that help us plan, keep track of, and then actually achieve our goals.
That description might sound really basic, but a lack of executive function skills is one of the primary challenges most of our clients face, and that lack is making their lives HARD.
These are folks who’ve gone to graduate school, who lead departments in huge corporations, who’ve started their own businesses, who are the kindest parents and teachers I’ve ever met.
They work in some of the most demanding and high-value fields there are, and yet they never learned these basic and necessary skills.
Here’s the thing: literally anyone can miss the boat on these skills, because society assumes you’ll just pick them up as you go along. Unless you had a parent or a teacher who explicitly taught you how to do this stuff, you might go your whole life without the basic knowledge you need to set yourself up for success.
It can be really frustrating to realize you’ve been struggling (some of you for decades) when the information that could change your life has just been waiting around for you to find it.
But, congratulations, you did find it! It took me years to learn this stuff, and I’m so excited to share it with you now. I hope you'll take advantage. Here's to taking control of your life!
