How I Turned My Masking, Burnout, and Communication Anxiety Around  (and What It Means For You)

I'm Danielle Sullivan, an AuDHD certified coach who was diagnosed in my 30s. When I was first identified as neurodivergent, I was always leaving conversations exhausted: rehearsing scripts, shrinking myself to avoid conflict, and replaying every interaction until I was too drained to show up for what mattered. 


Over time I learned there was nothing wrong with wanting connection that didn’t cost my energy; I just needed tools that respected how my nervous system actually works. 


I took the lessons that helped me stabilize my capacity (simple self-checks, needs-first language, and tiny, repeatable compassion practices) and shaped them into practices that don’t rely on masking or pretending to be neurotypical. 


From there I tested and refined those practices with real people (in workshops, small-group coaching, employee resource group trainings, and community challenges) and saw the same pattern repeat: when neurodivergent people get a practical, low-demand path from inner clarity to clear communication, their relationships become less draining, their energy lasts longer, and they stop apologizing for needing care. 


I built the Connection Without Masking Toolkit to capture that path: a neurodivergent-friendly communication workshop paired with playful, tiny-dosage self-compassion tools (the bingo cards) so the learning actually sticks on hard days
